West Coast and Haast River
Haast, New Zealand

More of the family and Tisa's adventure down the New Zealand west coast highway (Hwy 6). One of the stops we made, slightly north of Wanaka, was at the Haast river.

I guess there had been some pretty heavy rains a day or two before because the river was running pretty quickly making the scenery all that much better.

Turk Caption(s): [What is this]
Backroad/bridge crossing over a ravine; large vegetation covered hills or mountas surounding the area, forming the ravine. A white commuter bus is traveling towards the foreground in the far lane. Bus is about to pass a yellow and black arrow sign with the number 25 in front of it (probably a sign indicating a specific, probably reduced speed limit across the bridge) It is a bright day, sky is a very, very light blue, almost white in some places. Very feint, small clouds can be seen near the top of the image. There are weeds with golden tassels in the immediate foreground. The road curveds towards the bridge and is lined with short rail posts. The bridge itself is made up of beams forming open trianles, with possibly an open canopy across the top.
These mountains are the perfect place to start a road trip across the country.
