Wholey Bagel Friends Since Tisa was the one with all of the friend's in New Zealand, in particular in Wellington, we went out to play some pool and have some drinks one evening with a bunch of the people she was working with at Wholey Bagels (my favorite little bagel shop in the world).
AISC Goonies Game Who knows why I bring the camera everywhere with me, but this one night I just happened to have it up at AISC (Austin Indoor Soccer Center) just before one of our Goonies games.
Stunt Flying in 4951A Although there aren't actually any photographs in this series as the name suggests, Dustin and I were in fact out doing some stunt flying with Barb.
I believe on this particular occasion we were actually working on a variety of stall spins. Dustin departed KAUS with Barb, worked on the maneuvers, landed at Lockhart (50R), and then I took over from there.
A stall spin, to anyone curious, is basically where you idle the plane, but rather than losing altitude, you continue pitching up to keep the plane at a level altitude. Of course, eventually you have to pitch up so much that you wind up stalling. Just before this point (when the stall horn starts going off), you pull the yoke full back and apply full left rudder (which would normally make the plane yaw left). This combination causes the plane to effectively enter into a spin while nose diving.
Though it is a thrilling sensation, we practice it specifically to understand how to control a spin and how to effectively get out of one should one ever inadvertently occur.
JD and some Flowers Although these are in the same gallery, they're not really related. In fact, they're not at all related.
JD just happened to be at my apartment one afternoon after we were hanging out and I took a few pictures of him for one of his social networking sites (friendster or something of the sort).
The flowers actually came a few days later and were left on my door from Araceli.
The Death of Sparkle Motion After our lengthy voyage from Ranfurly, Otago back to Dunedin in our broken Sparkle Motion, Tisa and I needed to find a way to get rid of the car.
I tried giving it a way for a few days and even posted some ads on the website I was running in Dunedin, The City Octagon (thecityoctagon.co.nz).
After no luck at all, I finally had to call one of the scrap metal places to come and get it. I assumed that they would come and take the car for free, seeing on how they sell off the scrap metal, but I actually had to pay $50.00 NZD.
I have never seen a car picked up in this particular fashion. Though it worked out ok, I would hate to have been the one with my car parked under the lift.
Who is Tyler Canon? It's slightly difficult to explain exactly what the intention of this was, but essentially some guy tried to get into one (perhaps a few) of the pictures we were taking. Consequently, Kujda labeled him as the douchbag of the bar.
Nevertheless, since he was so interested in being in our photos, we thought we might as well try and get everyone to pose with him.
, this one's for you.
Sydney Evening Even though we tended to stay in some of the more touristy areas in Sydney, I still think it is one of my favorite (if not most favorite) urban city.
The city itself was designed very intelligently and the areas of town worth hanging out in are conveniently grouped together.
You can see in the album that there are magicians, fire jugglers, and etc. in this one particular part of town. Interestingly, most of them were Americans (or there accents were anyways).
Axel Lane Fence Posting This was perhaps one of the hardest working weekends I've ever worked in my life. Mostly my own fault for wanting to do all of the work myself, but just as hard nonetheless.
Each one of the wooden posts was 8 feet tall and between 4 and 6 inches in diameter. To say the very least, they were incredibly heavy and to make matters much worse, I had 30 of them.
I hired a gas powered auger from Rent-Equip (on Burnet and Braker) and proceeded to dig 30 holes, each about 3 feet deep into the ground and about 8 to 10 inches in diameter.
Barak and Mannion Wedding At long last, the much anticipated wedding of Mr. Brian Mannion and Deidra Barak. Having known Deidra for the better part of my life and Brian always just striking me as one of the friendliest guys, I was really looking forward to attending this wedding.
Suffice to say that the wedding was definitely one of the nicest I've been to. The wedding itself was short and sweet (my preference of any wedding), the reception couldn't have been more enjoyable, and the after-parties ran until the break of dawn.
I should like to thank them both for inviting me to the wedding and to Mr. and Mrs. Barak - long time friends of mine - for having such a spectacular party. I was especially fond of Mr. Barak naming me in his reception speech.
Kim & Daniel's Wedding After Party After a rather fantastic party at the Hobby Center, we moved the party over the double-suite that my parents had in the DoubleTree on Dallas and Bagby.
Tracy, Dave, and I stopped off at a gas station on the way over there and I purchased a large variety of beer, girly beer, and wine. As we got to the hotel, I naturally got one of the luggage carts so that I could get all of the beer up to the room when one of the guests sitting downstairs joked 'Are you having a party?'. I said we might be and they could come on over.
She smiled and responded that if they caught me with all of that beer they would ask me to leave. I laughed and continued loading prompting her to repeat what she had said with an "...I'm serious" at the end of it.
So long story short, evidently it is a rule of that particular DoubleTree that you can't give any sort of hint of having a party?!? Needless to say I covered all of it with a towel and proceeded up the elevator in stealth.
