Stuart Christmas Party Barbara Stuart (Mandy Stuart's mom) held a Christmas party each year at her house and always had her childrem invite as many of their friends as they wanted to. This was the second or third one that I had attended and as always, Barbara prepared her famous lasagna. I am fairly certain there were never leftovers.
Joe's Crab Shack During Thanksgiving break of our freshman year of college, me and a bunch of friends went out to Joe's Crab Shack in Houston one evening to partake in a night of binge drinking. Here are a few of the pics from that night from my brand new digital camera (brand new at the time)
Night out with Beeter During my first summer in Austin, I was often hanging out with my good buddy, David Beeter. One evening some friends and I had a little get together at his house. Putt wound up passing out well before we had time to go anywhere
Momma and Poppa Travels Because I have so many photo albums of my dad's parents (after restoring all of their slides), it can be a little overwhelming to find anything in them. Also, most of the photos that my grandfather took pictures of were of scenery rather than people. I made this album as a compilation of photos that actually have one of them in it. The album spans about 15 years of their traveling history.
Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá The salt cathedral of Zipaquirá is one of the most interesting places I have ever visited. It's a working salt mine carved several hundred meters into the Earth that has, in time, also been turned into a full Catholic Cathedral. The workers believed (and still do) that they needed god's help protecting them from the dangers of the salt mine and thus carved out all of the rooms by hand over many years. There is a complete fourteen step story of Jesus' death and an amazing mass hall. Afterwards we went to a pretty famous restaurant in Chica, Colombia called Qudrés Carne de Res.
A New Project I've wanted to own a bus ever since I had the pleasure of driving a camper van across New Zealand back in 2003. Every so often over the years I do a few weeks of research, but the dream eventually fizzles out for practical reasons. Recently Caroline and I have been playfully discussing the idea of converting a bus into something else. Perhaps unbeknownst to her, I'd actually been searching very sincerely for a bus for the past two months or so, reading tons of research on conversions, and etc. So low and behold, I finally bought one. She's a beaut.
Edinburgh, Scotland, UK Caroline and I set off for our third international trip of the year. We brought her grandmother, Maudie, along for this one. Caroline has planned out an excellent itinerary of stops along the perimeter of the country over the 9 days that we're traveling. The first segment of the tour was from Edinburgh. I'm glad I finally got to go having lived in the it's south of the equator counterpart, Dunedin, so many years ago.
Random PC Photos I had kept a directory of random photos on one of my old PCs. With no real idea of what to do with it, I just went ahead and kept it all together in this directory. It's got a host of junk in it from over the years.
Magnetic Letter Sales These were from the cubicles I had built for one my companies several years back. I thought I'd go ahead and finally get rid of them all on Facebook.
BBQ at Maria's House After all of the wedding festivities, but before we went off to Cartagena, Maria's mother held a BBQ for all of us at her house. Putt, in his infinite wisdom, hired a mariachi band for his new wife (one of her favorite things). We also had the pleasure of riding around the city on a Chiva bus. Basically it's a party bus with open sides. I was unfortunately over-exhausted by this point from drinking and lack of sleep and didn't really get to participate in it fully, but I still thoroughly enjoyed seeing around the city!
