Justice for Jacob Lavoro There is a guy living in Williamson County, Texas who was charged with selling pot brownies and faces from 5 years to life in prison. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few weeks back and also happened to attend a rally in his honor at the Georgetown courthouse. I was happy to see so many people show up and express their discontent for the situation. I can only hope that the justice system removes Jacob from their cross-hair, but even if they do this should serve as a reminder to how backwards the State of Texas and many other parts of the United States are. The justice system of the United States is a joke at very best and anyone who would spread the platitude that America is the number one country in the world, or the "best" country in the world is simply not examining all of the facts.
Campaign Billboard #2 This was the second billboard that we had installed for the TX House campaign. After the various successes with Reddit, I thought we should give something back to their community and thus we used one of our three lines just to thank them for helping us get started in politics! So to anyone who might come across this, thank you /r/bitcoin/!
LP National Convention Texas Party Evidently one of the traditions of the convention is for Texas to throw a huge party. We definitely came through on that tradition. Pat Dixon and Rick Perkins worked to arrange a room, a bar, and a karaoke machine (the latter I think Ben Farmer rigged up with some sound equipment and a laptop). We had a huge portion of the delegation show up including the esteemed former presidential candidate, Gary Johnson.
Ben and Billboards When Ben came in town from Toronto I took him to see one of my newer billboards up in Pflugerville. Naturally we had to take a few candid shots in front of it.
Pride Parade 2014 After a full day out at the 2014 Pride Festival, Adrienne was kind enough to walk the entire parade route with me carrying my campaign billboard. It was absolutely exhausting and excruciating on the legs and feet, but we made the entire walk and then back to my truck. It was one of the longest days of the campaign and I really appreciated all of the help.
Pflugerville Billboard The 4th and final billboard that we got as part of the campaign. This one sat in suburban Pflugerville and prominently read "Let's end the war on drugs."
Manor Billboard A few photos of the 3rd campaign billboard. This one was out in Manor, Texas and was written entirely in Spanish.
Adrienne Headshots Adrienne needed a headshot for her business and art purposes and so I tried to take one for her. Unfortunately I am horrible at taking portraits and could not for the life of me get anything of value despite the otherwise perfect subject material. I really just wound up getting frustrated that I couldn't get her a good headshot and eventually gave up.
A Lizard While cutting down one of my backyard trees I came across a lizard eating a grasshopper. I grabbed the camera and did my best to get some macro-esque shots of the scene.
Broadmoor Flooding Definitely one of the craziest evenings I've ever seen in Austin. My entire backyard flooded from the storm that came through. Adrienne and I got all of the towels and blankets in the house and did our best to keep it from coming inside. Fortunately the rain stopped just before it hit the front door.
