Coco Going Away Party One of Brooke's best friends, Coco, was moving to South Carolina to continue her master's program out there. She had a bunch of her friends meet her at the Hole in the Wall for some last hurrahs. Paula had the idea to have all of us write postcards for Coco that she would periodically mail out to her. Genius!
Whit's Birthday My good buddy Whit celebrated his most recent birthday at the new Austin Restaurant Sala and Betty's. Although I'm not personally a huge fan of the restaurant due to most everything there being pickled, I loved seeing Whit and all of his friends (most especially his wife Catherine who is one of my favorite local art protectors).
Broadmoor Spider Despite being terrified of spiders, I worked to explore one in my backyard. The pictures came out pretty amazing with the sun behind them.
Weatherup Brooke and I took a quick trip over to one of our local bars called Weatherup. Unfortunately there were an unseasonable amount of mosquitoes out there, but as per our usual standards, we had the best of times together.
Photo Shoot with Geoff As part of the music project my friend Carly and I have been working on we asked one of our local photographer friends if he would do a shoot for us. Carly's sister manages the UT Visual Arts Center and was able to let us use the giant open space in the off-season for our shoot.
Steady Legend My buddy Mike Mancuso has his own 90s-esque ska band called Steady Legend. Incidentally he is also currently playing bass in the band that Carly and I have been working on. I've been meaning to get to one of his shows for weeks, but keep getting my schedule interrupted. Brooke and I went and checked them out after the first night of Fun Fest. They played over at the Sahara Lounge and I have to say put on a pretty great show!
Halloween HFest One of Brooke's friends throws a yearly Halloween party called the HFest. This year it was hosted in a co-op-esque space over on Caesar Chavez. Our friend Josh dressed up as Flow from the insurance commercials and wound up taking 3rd place in the costume contest.
LNC Meeting and Rosen Center As an elected member of the Libertarian National Committee, it is my responsibility to attend quarterly meetings to debate platform changes, policy issues, and many other things related to the Libertarian Party. The location of the meetings changes regularly. This one was in Orlando as it was showcasing the space the National Convention will be at in May of 2016.
Traveling to Toronto On my way to see one of my little besties, Benny, up in Toronto. He and I have traveled to a number of countries together, but I've never actually seen his hometown of Toronto. Next stop, Bennyville.
Canadian Parliament We decided to stop off in Ottawa for Ben to see one of his very old and dear friends. Unfortunately that friend wound up having to cancel on us after we already traveled there, but it was absolutely beautiful seeing the city and getting to see the Canadian Parliament. It had just snowed the night before we arrived and so there was a thin layer of snow covering most everything in the city. It was absolutely beautiful.
