Easel Leg Sample Piece I was trying to explain to Rachel exactly what my idea was for the easel legs that I've been working on. It's been a fun process since she's been eager to learn some woodworking and I'm all too happy to teach. So I took a small piece of the remaining walnut, performed a 1/4" deep dado cut down the center line, and fit it with a matching piece of pine. The pine was glued into the dado cut, clamped, and left to dry overnight. The next day I showed her how to make the various cuts so that the two pieces would appear as one. I didn't spend the same amount of time that I will for the actual project this is part of, but I also showed her how the various sanding efforts will go. I went through 220, 320, 600, and 1200 grit sandpapers and then used my mystery oil. The end result was phenomenal and that's just with a cheap piece of pine scrapwood. I'm planning to purchase some kind of maple to inlay the walnut with.
Configuring Sun Shades I've been wanting to hang sun shades around my backyard for a number of years now. Given that I purchased all of the steel cable crimping tools last summer so that I could hang the lights in my backyard, I figured that I finally had the tools and skills to make the shades a reality. I purchased one at Home Depot just so that I could play around with layouts and spacing. I then ordered a handful of sails online and go to work. There's a few things I'd like to change, but they work pretty amazingly for the most part.
Wonder Thrills Wheel amusement part ride sign an electric sign for an amusement park/ carnival ride. sunny day, blue sky. already did this one The entrance to the Wonder Wheel at Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York
Waiting for the Subway at Coney Island The downtown subway system before opening and there is no one there. Pretty much just what the title says. And of course a la my fascination with subways and train tracks.
Untitled this is the art and some one has drawn in the paper and it is very nice Ludlow (at teller's counter), Robertson (w/ hat), Osbeck (w/ glasses), and Putt (in safe) are robbing the bank. Vance Kotrla is to drive the getaway car. Bank personell: are Mandy Stuart (by Osbeck), Leslie Long, Joe Matthews, and Bert Gentles (guard on floor).
Untitled This is handwritten letter and also a drawing showing the incident. Kevin Ludlow shoots the chef of steakhouse/grill called "The Hill". The owner shoots at Ludlow after Ludlow and Steve Robertson kill 4 rednecks (one killed by darts) (other, because Steve wanted his 16lb steak). Ludlow's girlfriend stands on a table, holding a .38mm pistol, and a bag of wallets.
Trial of Ludlow This is a scribbling, rough handwriting. Ludlow: I'm gonna fucking kill you! You're gonna burn in hell! Dagley: Order! I want order! Baliffs, remove him! Ludlow: I'm gonna personally drink our bl... Garcia: Get him out before I break his nose! Little motherfucker! Dagley: Remove him! Garcia be seated! Rolens, be seated! Rybacki: You are scum pal! You're the one who'll burn! Vance: Hey, this is cool. Rolens: Come on your honor, I need at least 5 more minutes in the camera. Crap, gotta call.
The Golden Gate Bridge A strong and long bridge built across a wide river. This is one of the better pictures I've ever been able to take of the Golden Gate Bridge (thanks to the fog being gone).
The Dentist Chair it is looking like an office This was one of two dentist chairs aboard the USS Alabama. This is far worse than any weaponry aboard the ship.
Standoff A drawing of men shooting with weapons at one another. Walters (with glass and mobman who thought up robbery) threatens to shoot FBI Agent Matt Fitz (on floor), if Putt (w/ two guns) doesn't stop aiming at Jackson (b/c of reliable mobsters), and Robertson, plans to shoot Fitz (because he saw him and Schrodi [dead on floor, shot by Fitz] torture a cop and talk to Walters), but Vance (w/ fly open) aims an MP-5 automatic machine-gun, and could kill the 3 bad guys. Sgt. Nery (in chair next to his ear), watches in disbelief. Ludlow is told by Putt Vance to get the car started, and put all money in it.
