Exploring NYC at Night After Eric and Amy had already retired to bed, I went out and about around the city for a few hours. I mostly hung out around time square, but was happy as could be wandering around the streets, eating my soft pretzel, and having caricatures drawn of me. This even happened to be the evening where I had an interesting encounter with a .
St. Patrick's Day Eric and I met up with the Crockett's at one of the many St. Patrick's day celebratory bars downtown. It was especially crowded as SXSW (South by Southwest) was still going on as well.
Disc Golfing with Z Mike organized Dreux and Eric and I for a game of disc golf at a short course park. The park is called the Katherine Fleischer Park and is located off of Wells Branch Parkway just a mile or so west of I-35.
Mardi Gras Party Gene and Vanessa had a little Mardi Gras gathering over at their house. Tiffany stopped by for a few moments with Wes so that she could drop off a bottle of Absinthe for all of us. I was later told that Dreux threw up black liquorish all night long.
Out Clubbing Tiffany and Jen were headed out on the town one night and Gene, Vanessa, and Christine asked if I'd like to go. I think the occasion had something to do with a bachelor party, but nevertheless, we all got invited to go out. We started out at The Foundation over on fifth street before eventually moving to Oslo's (a bar that doesn't exist any longer). Tiffany had somehow procured a bottle of Absinthe which we all took turns gulping down within the car inside of the parking garage. I don't recall hallucinating, but I definitely got drunk
Preston 27th Birthday Me and a bunch of Preston's friends met up at The Iron Cactus for his 27th birthday party. His best present (as far as I could tell) was Guitar Hero (and the guitar that comes with it).
Exploring London When I took my business trip to Guildford, England in the beginning of 2006, I had the luxury of a spare day (it was cheaper to come home on Sunday rather than Saturday). Although it was a fairly rushed trip, I spent the entire day exploring London and from what I told, couldn't have gotten any luckier with the weather. I was actually in the city the very same day that many people may remember the large whale being found and trapped in the Thames River. Although I didn't actually see the whale, there was definitely a lot of commotion about it around town.
Welcome Back Dinner The day that Tisa and I got back to Austin, after a long year in New Zealand and a few days in Houston, we met up with her family and some of our friends at Shady Grove on Barton Springs.
Spyglass Apartment Shots After getting my stuff more or less organized in my new apartment on Spyglass, I wanted to snap off a few shots with my Minolta so that I could show the place to Nick and Marnie back in New Zealand. Incidentally, this was the first apartment I ever had to myself (ie: without roommates)
Christoph Back from Iraq Just a short while after Tisa and I got back from New Zealand, Christoph happened to be in town, back from a tour in Iraq. Dave and I met up with him and Klaus at the Drafthouse near 45th and Medical Arts.
