Driving Around Fiji With the help of our trusty little Echo rental car, Tisa and I took a trip around the entire Viti Levu Island that we were visiting. I think what would have been my most favorite part of the drive was when Tisa and I stopped by one of the local Muslim Mosques. Unfortunately, the guy who was watching the place (equivalent of a minister) required that we pay in order to see it. Tisa and I not being particularly fond of spending money, and me being particularly opposed to religious figures trying to make a buck, we declined to go inside.
All Blacks Party This has to hands down be the craziest party that I (and I am certain Tisa too) had, have, and will ever have gone to. With the All Blacks in Dunedin, playing just up the street from this flat, Monique's cousin (Tisa's roommate's cousin) was having an All Blacks watching party at the house. The only thing I can say to describe the event is 'Animal House'. It was honestly exactly like when we see what a Delta House party looks like. Beer bottles were flying across the room, brawls were breaking out, it was just a mess. Incidentally, however, it was a great time. I think one of the highlights was the entire group of guys standing up and performing the Haka as a group.
Dinner at Truluck's A nice little dinner with some of Tracy's friends and their boyfriends. We were originally supposed to get tapas at the restaurant next door, Saba, but the wait was far too long and Truluck's sounded better anyways.
My New Hairstyle This is a pretty shameless photo gallery, but after I got my hair chopped off for the first time in many years I needed to get some new photos onto all of the social networking sites (seeing on how I am a member and all). This is apparently how many tries it took me before I felt like I had some shots to work with.
Random NYC Pics Out and about in NYC with Eric and Amy, I wound up taking many picture sets specifically so that I could use them to generate panoramic photos (using our digital stitching software).
Uncle Rich's House in Jersey After the reunion in South Jersey was over and just before I started making my way back into New York City, I stopped by my Uncle Rich's house in Old Bridge, New Jersey to visit with him, my cousin paige, and my grandfather, Dick. The first thirty or so pictures are of the exterior of Rich's house. I took them in succession so that I could stitch a panoramic together.
Hefferon Family Reunion 2006 The extended Hefferon family has an annual family reunion just outside of Hammonton, New Jersey. As it happens, I was the first person in my family to actually visit the spectacle and to meet handfuls of second and third cousins I never even knew existed. I was particularly happy that I went as my grandfather, Richard Hefferon, became very ill and subsequently [album=160]died of leukemia[/album] just a few months after this event. Although I spoke with him on the phone a few times between this event and his death, this was the last time that I saw him alive.
Hanging Out With Heather After driving around central Jersey and visiting my old home town of Manalapan, I headed over to my cousin Heather's neck of the woods. We took to the town for a few hours before heading back to her new apartment and watching Scrubs for most of the night. I actually tried to buy us some beer at a local quickie mart only to have the guy stare at me blankly. After some further conversation, I learned that only liquor stores in New Jersey sell beer, not convenience stores.
Gibson Closeups I wanted to take a series of close-up pictures of my Gibson for the sake of stitching together a perfect panoramic picture, but unfortunately the auto-stitch program that I was using was not able to find enough differences in the texture (apparently) to put together something meaningful. So, I was just left with a nice gallery of Gibson close-ups instead.
LaViolette After Party After we finally had to leave the wedding ceremony, we headed just a few miles away to Scott and Kathy's house for some heavy after wedding drinking. It was nice to get out of the suits, down to our whites, and to drink until all hours of the night. I seem to recall Dave having to hold up there and wait for me to finish playing songs on the guitar with some guy's girlfriend.
