Dreux Wedding Day Brunch Hours before Dreux and Amy's wedding, a bunch of us got together and had brunch and drinks at Trudy's North. After our lunch we took Dreux back to his house, hung out with him for a short while, and left him to his own to prepare for his wedding night.
Daniel's Graduation Party Late in the evening of Daniel's graduation, he and Kim and I went out and about with a number of their friends. After a long and heavy night of drinking, we headed over to Denny's for some late night feeding.
80's Party Tiffany had told me about some 80's party that she and some friends were headed to downtown and Gene and Vanessa asked me if I wanted to meet up with them there. It was a really fun night except for that there was a loose piece of sheet metal hanging off of the bar and I managed to slice my knee open on it. I spent a good 30 minutes in the back room of the bar trying to apply some first aid.
Night out at Sherlocks Krista happened to be out of town one night so Crockett and I went to play poker over at Legend's Sports Bar, and then spent the rest of the evening with Gene, Tiffany, and a handful of other people over at Sherlocks.
311 Mary Party If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, Kathy and Scott definitely throw my favorite parties. As I had been to many many of them before, this was just another 311 Mary (the street address) that I happened to make it to. I initially stopped by the Draughthouse so that I could meet up with the Crocketts, Mussells, and other such faces, but only stayed for a short while so that I could make it to the party. Evidently I got a hold of the classical guitar at one point and made it a highlight of my evening. I recall playing my acoustic version of Little Wing (Hendrix) for Dreux and some people and Dreux has periodically commented on it since.
Dave's Graduation After seven very long years (eight if you count that quick tour in dual-credit high school classes), Dave finally got his computer science degree from St. Edwards. His entire family was in town for the event, and I'm sure everyone was all too thrilled to finally be done with it.
Exploring NZ Northern Tip With just a few days left on our rental car (before we needed to head back to Auckland), Tisa and I drove as far north as we could make it in New Zealand. Although we didn't make it to the northern-most tip due to time constraints, we definitely got to explore much more than we had otherwise planned to. I was particularly frustrated one evening when we couldn't find a place to stay and I was overly exhausted late into the morning. We eventually pulled into a trailer park and just slept in the car.
Night out in Wellington Since Tisa had literally worked seven or eight different jobs in just the short month or two that we were in Wellington, she naturally met tons of friendly people. On this one particular night we went out with a large group of people that she met at her restaurant, her bagel shop, and probably some other combination of workplaces too. It was particularly enjoyable as some of them were Kiwis, some of them were Americans, some of them were Canadians, and on and on.
Sydney Day Trip This was a pretty neat trip that my mom got us to go on. It was basically a guided tour around several surrounding parts of Sydney, Australia. We first went around the city a bit and then got to check out the Olympic Stadium. Afterwards, we went to a wildlife refuge and got to see koala bears, kangaroos, and various other native Australian wildlife. Next we visited the three sisters park (a giant rock structure out in the bush) before ending with some aboriginal music and learning how to properly throw boomerangs.
Flying to Christchurch Just a couple of shots from inside of the plane. My family and Tisa (with exception of my dad who was headed back to the States) were heading from Dunedin to Christchurch, and then from Christchurch to Sydney for another five days.
