International Antarctic Centre Just after we departed with dad in Dunedin and before our flight to Sydney, we stopped in at the International Antarctic Centre. Though Tisa and I had already been there once, we hadn't spend much time exploring all of the museum.
Abel Tasman National Park Although we only got to visit here for a few short hours (given that we were on a rapid quest to make it through the country), I was happy that we got to show off the Abel Tasman National Park and golden beaches. Tisa and I had already been there a time or two before, but it was definitely a place that we wanted to share with the fam.
Sailing the Cook Tisa and I had already been on this voyage before (though before we left New Zealand would ultimately cross it half a dozen more times). This was the final night that Sean was in town with us. We found a hotel on the western side of Wellington, took Sean to the airport the next morning, and headed back to Dunedin the next day.
Train Ride: Auckland to Wellington With the family in town for two weeks, our first adventure was to take the train from Auckland all the way down to Wellington. Although this sounded like a great idea, it turned out to be anything but that. There were definitely some nice parts that we wound up going through, but the train was terribly slow and there really wasn't much of anything to eat throughout the ten hour journey. Even though it wasn't the best train ride ever, I was happy to have gone on it so that I could see even more of New Zealand.
Fenway Park One afternoon while I was hard at work (or likely not working at all), Tracy called me up and asked me if I'd like to go and see the Red Sox play the Yankees in Fenway Park. She added the obvious that we'd have to go to Boston to see the game. Without hesitation, I jumped on the opportunity and we had the tickets booked the very same day. To anyone who has never made it to Fenway Park, I would definitely recommend checking it out. Baseball games can get a little boring, but the crazy Bostonians cheering on the Sox definite have a way of making the game much more interesting. The best part is that no matter what tickets you buy, the seats are pretty much all the same (perhaps with exception of the famous Green Monster seats).
Trip to Boston Though the main focus of the trip was to go and see the Red Sox play in [album=283]Fenway Park[/album], there was definitely plenty of other things that we were there to see. In addition to walking most of the Freedom Trail and trying on colonial outfits, what trip to Boston could be complete without seeing the Cheers Bar. Actually, that was less than exciting, but we did have a great time exploring around Harvard. ...drinking with a bunch of suh-mat kids.
AISC Goonies Game Who knows why I bring the camera everywhere with me, but this one night I just happened to have it up at AISC (Austin Indoor Soccer Center) just before one of our Goonies games.
Dave Visiting Austin Dave came in town for the weekend and brought with him his new remote control helicopter. We went over to the Austin Community College branch over by my house and flew it around for a bit. I snapped off a bunch of pictures from my garden area too.
Visiting Baby Graham Tracy and I stopped by the hospital when Genevieve was just two days old. I was a little nervous about it, but did get to hold her. Tracy took her like a natural pro. Sunni was still recovering in bed, and though it's pretty rare that I work with this directive, she did politely ask for no photos of her. As such, Sunni is the only one missing from this gallery.
Accident Pics Tracy's friend, Heather Bucklin, was working with the Bastrop medical team (as a mobile paramedic ambulence worker) and somehow was able to take Tracy out and about on her route one evening. Unfortunately there wasn't but a single call, the pics which are contained within.
