Halloween 2008 My friend Dustin was going to a Halloween party at his friend Doug's house in Rollingwood and invited Tracy and I to attend it. Tracy dressed up as Sarah Palin. Unfortunately since I hadn't really planned to do much for Halloween, I had to quickly throw something together. I wound up creating some sort of a sad-clown bee, complete with lots of yellow makeup and wings.
Travis County International Cemetery I was just shooting a bunch of photos out by Axel Lane for the purpose of presenting them to the Austin Planning Commission. The panorama photos that I put together wound up coming out great and evidently worked out nicely with the planning commission as well.
Neighborhood Night Out I just happened to have my camera with me on over in the Mueller Neighborhood for the annual night out. Naturally McGruff the Crime Dog made his annual appearance.
Stripping my Saturn Down One of the problems that I've always had with my Saturn is that I am unable to clean in between all of the little plastic spaces. In an effort to combat this and finally clean my car, it occurred to me that the only real way to do this would be to remove the entirety of the center console, remove the passenger seat, and anything else in between. These photos are the results.
Tracy and Heather Women's Race Tracy and her friend Heather entered a women's race out in Cedar Park. It was one of those multi-part races that has some oddities to it. The first part required people to get across water in whatever type of inflatable transport they felt would be best suited for it. That was followed by a several mile run, and then finally an obstacle course at the very end. I sat around with the Adams family (and especially my buddy Bethany) and shot some photos of the madness.
Flying with Ben Caroline's brother, Ben, is a pilot and oddly enough trained in one of the same planes that I trained in (N4951A). He and I took an afternoon trip out to Llano and enjoyed some delicious Cooper's BBQ.
Pope Wedding and Reception Emerson and Jennie had one of the coolest weddings that I've been to, especially in Austin. They rented one of the larger paddle boats on Town Lake (Ladybird Lake) and were married a little east of the MoPac bridge. The wedding reception was at the downtown Hyatt and managed to get me sufficiently intoxicated. Fortunately I had my trusty designated driver with me.
NYE 2011/2012 Caroline and I drove to Houston to spend the NYE with my Houston group. Actually, we were specifically going to celebrate Diana's 30th birthday. Since it falls on Christmas (which happened to be a Sunday this year), we celebrated it the next weekend. Evan was able to get us a reserved room and all-night bottle service at a club called Celtic Gardens.
Harry Potter World The second to last day we were in Orlando, we headed over to Universal Studios with the intent of visiting Harry Potter World. It was actually pretty sweet at first since the place was completely empty. We literally could walk right up to the front of a roller-coaster line and get on. There was occasionally only a 1-2 minute wait to sit in the very front seats. Unfortunately due to a reasonably heavy night of drinking in Epcot, we were a little under the weather.
Orlando and Epcot I surprised Caroline with a trip out to Orlando. I wanted her to meet a number of my good friends out there and she had mentioned wanting to visit Harry Potter World at some point so it just sounded like a good combination. Fortunately some of Ryan's friends were able to get us into Epcot free of charge and since it was the end of the wine and food festival, we did a full round-the-world of drinking there and went on all of the rides too.
