Jon Weitzel's House When I had only had my first digital camera for a short period of time, I was one night hanging out with my friend from highschool, Jon Weitzel. The power went out for a few hours and so we lit some candles. We quickly noticed that the digital camera put some pretty neat effects on the images and decided to shoot a bunch of pics before the power came back on. This is a pretty weird photo gallery to say the least.
Turkey Bowl During the Thanksgiving holidays, a bunch of my highschool friends (most whom played highschool football with me) and I threw our annual Turkey bowl. It wa s basically just a tackle football game played without pads. Some might refer to that as playing rubgy, we referred to it as our Turkey Bowl
Ivy Farm Pics These were all of the random pictures we took at Caroline's parent's house. I had specifically wanted to go in the winter time so that we could get to be in the snow all week. Unfortunately it only started to snow the last 12 hours that we were there, but I was happy to get to plow the driveway with Robbie's tractor!
Putt Wedding The Putt wedding was truly a unique experience for all of those who attended. It was hosted in a beautiful area about an hours ride into the mountains outside of Bogatá. After a pretty standard mass in Spanish (albeit outside), we enjoyed many, many hours of Salsa music and dancing. At around eight in the evening, we were also treated what people call La Hora Loca (Crazy Hour). It was an hour long tribal-esque dancing performance with original Colombian music and dancing styles. Everyone was wearing masks and various types of hats. It was definitely something I had never seen before. Thankfully I remember it all despite the 14 glasses of Scotch that accompanied my day.
Headed to Colombia Caroline and I flew down to Colombia for a week with Putt's family and Maria's family. It was really great seeing a bunch of old friends and having a packed agenda of places to explore.
Wedding Collection I was speaking with someone the other day and it occurred to me that I have been to dozens of weddings over the past several years. Given the way that my photo archival software has been designed to work, I thought it would be fun to include a photo from each of those weddings into a single album. This is that album. After compiling them, I found that there are half a dozen that I apparently didn't take photos at. Very unlike me!
Student Council Retreat Over the summer of 1996 the Taylor Student Council (for the upcoming senior class) was fortunate enough to take a trip for their student governance. Since I was dating Tara Stromberg at the time, I wound up with all of the photos from their trip.
1996 FFA Somehow or another I wound up getting a roll of film that belonged to a friend of mine, Johnny Smith. Since it found its way into my collection, I went ahead and digitized it with the rest of my own. Though it would have been interesting, I never had any real connections to the FFA myself.
Isle of Skye The Isle of Skye is one of the many beautiful islands on the northwestern coast of Scotland. It was a somewhat difficult drive out there given the tiny, winding, and mountainous roads, but it was well worth the drive. The area was absolutely gorgeous and Caroline found us another spectacular bed and breakfast in which to stay. This one may have actually been my favorite as I'm pretty sure it was just a husband and wife working entirely off of the grid for extra cash (and I do hate governments). There are a ton of randomly exposed pictures in this album because I was experimenting with some HDR photography as well as panoramas.
Cartagena Cartagena has to be one of the cooler places I've been to. The city has been around for centuries and has perhaps the narrowest streets that I've ever walked. The group of us stayed in an incredible house that literally had a pool of water running through it. You actually had to step on marble stones to walk from the front door towards the kitchen area. We took a few adventures around the town and pretty much kept ourselves drunk around the clock. Also, it turns out that Avianca is one of the best airlines I've ever had the pleasure of flying with.
