Christmas Tree Setup I decided that I would purchase a Christmas tree for the house. It was a simple tree. A small tree. But I strung it up properly with lights and we hung some ornaments upon it that described our respective personalities.
Repairing Suzi's Walkway Suzi had some old etchings on her walkway that she would prefer to have had removed. Though I hadn't specifically chiseled out an entire piece of concrete before, I offered to do it for her. I had to purchase a small chisel and mallet set at Home Depot and then slowly work my way through the entirety of the etching so that I could remove the old words carved in and fill it with concrete filler. It actually came out really well all in all. It will probably take several months to a year to have the concrete colors blend properly, but in time it should be pretty invisible.
Offloading to Facebook Marketplace In an effort to get rid of a ton of stuff that's been cluttering my home for the past few years and with the advent of Facebook Marketplace, I went to town. I loathe Facebook, but I have to give credit where it's due. The Facebook Marketplace works pretty well for unloading junk.
Burning off the Giant Brush Piles After spending a few weeks clearing out a massive area of [mostly] scrub trees on Claire's new property, we had to do something with the enormous brush piles that had accumulated from the smaller branches. There were 5 giant piles and we managed to go through a few of them and set them entirely ablaze. We couldn't burn them where they had been set and so we had to drag them one at a time to the massive bonfire.
Spring Rolls with Kitty and Wade Claire whipped up all of the fixings for spring rolls and we invited Kitty and Wade over to wrap them. Though I've consumed many hundreds of spring rolls in my days, I'd never actually made them before. It was kind of similar to a dumpling party, only much healthier and perhaps tastier too. Claire somehow or another whipped together a peanut sauce in her little hand blender. It was probably better than any peanut sauce I've ever been served in a restaurant before.
New Year's Eve 2021/2022 New Year's Eve was a mostly solo event, so I went for a quick run while everybody in the neighborhood was queuing for the bars and clubs. I did wind up driving up to see Jordan a little after midnight and enjoyed having some food with her that I'd prepared at the house.
More Random St. Louis Pics I've been finding lots of photos from Saint Louis that don't have a specific gallery associated with them and so they've all been dropped into here.
