Klaus Paragliding Dave and I were watching Klaus practice some para-gliding maneuvers one afternoon at the Murchinson Middle school hill when a couple of kids that had gotten their hands on a parachute showed up. Needless to say they didn't get very far with this experiment, but it proved to be a comical afternoon.
Discovering Westslope After driving around for a few days looking for a new place, Dave got in touch with a Realtor that happened to tell us about this place. We immediately went to check it out, liked it, and signed the lease. This photo gallery is from when Dave and I went to check things out before actually signing the lease.
Motorcycling Night On the evening of one of the days that Dave and Mike had rented Harleys, Chris and his girlfriend, Molly, stopped by with a friend. Dave took all of them around for rides on the bike.
Pumpkin Carving 2006 In keeping with our new tradition of pumpkin carving over at the Crockett's, this is just another gallery of detailed pumpkin ideas.
First Underwater Pics When you buy yourself an underwater camera (or underwater camera housing as was my case), the first thing you'll want to do is find yourself a good pool with clean and clear water. My Village Oaks apartment had just that to offer and though there were some people around probably questioning exactly what I was doing, I was still able to get in plenty of play time.
Orange and White Game During the spring season, Dreux and Amy invited me to the University of Texas Longhorns Orange and White game. It was particularly interesting since I had never gone before. I wasn't entirely sure how they kept up with the scoring, as there are points awarded to both the offense and the defense for certain plays, but it was definitely a fun time. This happened to be the first time that people had seen Colt McCoy play on the Texas field.
Putt's Crawfish Boil The first crawfish boil to actually have the title of the Eastside Boil. Putt definitely outdid himself with this years crawfish boil. I'm not sure how many people he invited, but they definitely filled the yard in it's entirety. I actually wound up getting to see some people whom I hadn't seen in many years. I even managed to get invited to a local concert after the party. All in all, it was a very good party.
Chapparal Ice With Zavesky Eric and I stopped by Chapparal Ice to see Mike's team play but unfortunately got there a little too late to really watch much. We did enjoy getting to run around out on the ice for awhile afterwards.
Zilker Park with Bethany Tracy and I took her little niece, Bethany, who was then about 1.5 years old out to Zilker Park for the afternoon. We did the usual things at the park but also the unusual - for the first time ever I got to ride the Zilker train. After the park we took Bethany to get a sno-cone at the corner of Lamar and Barton Springs. She seemed ever too pleased to get such a treat. The only bad part of the day was that somehow or another the LCD on my Casio Exilim broke. Though the camera continued to work, it's nearly impossible to see what you're shooting.
MS 150 2007 I drove Tracy down to Houston (with her fancy bike) so that she could ride in the 2007 MS 150 (150+ miles from Houston to Austin over two days). These pictures are of her, her friend Heather Bucklin, and her friend Randy, as they prepared to head up the road.
