Dreux's Starwars Birthday My good friend Dreux has a pretty cool mom. The day that the studios announced the release date for the first new Star Wars (episode VII), she realized that it would be on Dreux's 39th birthday. She magically rented out an entire theater at the Alamo Drafthouse and Dreux was allowed to invite 60 of his closest friends to come with. Wouldn't you know I got an invitation for two people!
Monte at the Parish Monte Montgomery shredding it at the Parish! I hadn't seen Monte play in quite some time and was fortunate enough to see that he was playing a show at the Parish. While I bought 8 tickets to it, I couldn't find any takers in the end. My buddy and bandmate, Sasha wound up going with me, but could only stay for about 30 minutes. I wound up watching most of the show by myself, but well worth it!
LNC Meeting in Phoenix In kind of a rare moment, the Libertarian National Committee decided to have one of their meetings at a resort in Arizona. It was a pretty badass place and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with a bunch of political friends who had flown in from all over the country for it. This is also the meeting where I was granted the authority to finally rebuild the atrocious lp.org website.
Candidate Forum at Victory Grill The Victory Grill had a small candidate forum for candidates who had just filed in the 2016 races. The idea was to get all of the candidates BEFORE the primaries happened. I attended with my friends Loren, Mark, and Eric and proceeded to give some enjoyable and amusing interviews to the news reporters there.
Dawn's Final Dinoysium With Dawn moving up to Colorado after she and Kurt's very amicable divorce after 10 years, she went on to do one last performance as the hostess of the monthly Dionysium show.
Fake Watch Analysis My boss had come across this watch and some preliminary research showed that it could be worth upwards of $20,000. I snapped a bunch of photos of it and posted it to a watch subreddit on Reddit. It didn't take but 10 minutes for a barrage of Redditors fascinated with watches to shoot us down and laugh at us for posting a fake watch.
Banff and Lake Louise Devin and I had the pleasure of visiting one of the absolutely most spectacular places on the entire planet. We were absolutely in awe of everything that we saw. The only part that made it even more beautiful was getting to share it with one another. The lake, rowing around, photo after photo, and just the most scenic views imaginable made the experience one that we'll remember for the rest of our lives.
Dawn, Kurt, and the Rudes Kurt and Dawn wanted to go and see a Rude Mechanicals performance. Since I sit on the board, I was more than delighted to take them. We hung out at my house for a bit with little Panda, went and grabbed some dinner, and then got to see one of the "Fixing" series performances. It was a pretty kick ass performance.
